Toddler Unit

Children in our toddler units are between about two and three years old.  Children of this age are active, inquisitive and rapidly developing language and cognitive skills.

We provide new experiences to develop a positive sense of self and respect for others.  During their time in the toddler unit, children gradually become more confident, independent and get used to sharing experiences together in a safe, secure, caring environment.

Toddlers enjoy socialising, exploring, playing and learning through various activities that are planned carefully in advance for each individual child and carried out every day.

All staff work in partnership with parent/carers to observe and plan for each individual child and activities are centred around their interests and abilities.

This is also the time when most children go through the toilet training process and our toddler staff are able to work with parents in order to make this transition as smooth as possible.   

Typically children have a rapidly expanding language bank at this age. They learn to form words and sentences clearly and will begin to make verbal requests. Interactions with children of this age group are always lovely. They find wonder in their world and are often humorous, spontaneous, random, curious and love to talk.
