We employ committed, caring, and enthusiastic managers, heads and deputies of units and nursery nurses and they are the key to our success. They are all totally focussed on the wellbeing of the children in their care, and their loving approach to childcare is evident to anyone visiting our nurseries.
We ensure that we reward our team well and look after them, and as a result we have very consistent and happy team members dedicated to providing a welcoming and stimulating environment for young children.
We recognise that it’s important that we retain excellent staff to ensure consistency of care for the children in our care. Over 90% of our staff are childcare qualified, with a considerable number holding or pursuing further qualifications including the early years professional status, BA Hons degrees, Foundation degrees and higher level National Vocational Qualifications.
Each nursery has a supernumerary management team of at least two managers. We feel this investment helps us to achieve and maintain the highest standards of childcare. Our managers and deputy managers are experienced, passionate professionals who understand that we always put children first.
We also have a central support team consisting of a Senior Manager, an Accounts Manager and a HR/Business Manager. They have a wide range of skills and experience which provide invaluable assistance to our nursery managers and directors allowing them to focus their energies on childcare issues. By spending time in the rooms observing practice and mentoring their staff, our managers ensure we maintain outstanding levels of childcare on a daily basis.
We expect very high standards from our team, and have a thorough induction and training programme for new members of the team and newly promoted staff. All of our staff are in receipt of an enhanced CRB / DBS check and the safeguarding of all children is of utmost importance within the nurseries. All staff are trained in safeguarding, food hygiene and paediatric first aid.
We currently employ over 120 members of staff and not one of them smokes. In line with the latest government guidelines regarding passive smoking we have a very strict ‘No smoking’ policy that states employees may not smoke at all during their working day including during their lunch break, and should not smoke at all when wearing uniform, i.e. when travelling to or from work etc.
Each of our nurseries employs a chef to prepare fresh healthy meals and snacks for the children every day. We have always been awarded the Gold standard in the Golden Apple Awards given by Bury Council for our healthy and varied Summer and Winter menus and good hygiene practices for children.
We employ three full time maintenance staff to ensure that the nursery premises are always kept pristine. This also allows us to constantly review and improve the nursery environment for our children and staff. A cleaner in each nursery also helps kept the rooms looking fresh and clean.
“There is an inspired vision for the nursery, as staff, management and directors are enthusiastic and inspired to provide outstanding quality childcare. There is exceptional reflection on what is provided and, therefore, the capacity to maintain continuous improvement and enhance all aspects for children is first class.”
